Genie was founded in 1966 by entrepreneur, Bud Bushnell. Bud bought the manufacturing rights to a lift that operated on compressed air, which was the “magic in the bottle” that raised and lowered the hoist. That’s how the Genie name was born.

Many large industries use Genie’s equipment. These industries include construction, government and military, entertainment, and retail.

Over the years, Genie has developed a diverse range of equipment that makes working at various heights safe for equipment operators. Each piece of equipment is designed for a specific need that helps get the job done efficiently. Let’s learn about some of the different types of equipment and their functions:

Genie Xtra Capacity (XC) Boom Lift:

Designed for jobs that require a high reach height and a heavy load. Genie’s Xtra Capacity lifts provide an unrestricted range of motion with a platform capacity of 660 lbs. and a restricted operating envelope capacity of 1,000 lbs.

Telescopic Boom Lift:

Developed to provide a greater horizontal outreach which makes it perfect when working in areas with limited access.

Articulated Boom Lift:

Designed to reach up and over areas that are hard to access.

Slab Scissor Lift:

Rough Terrain Scissor Lift:

Designed to offer lift speed and a larger platform workspace. RT scissors provides traction, speed, and gradeabilities that no other boom lift can offer – great for big outdoor jobs.

Aerial Work Platform:

Built for ease of use and a wide range of functions. They are lightweight and compact, which makes them perfect for indoor jobs.

Vertical Mast Lift:

Designed to enhance productivity in the workplace. Genie Runabouts cost less than larger lifts, and they’re easy to maneuver, use, and transport.
